NEGRONI

Negroni, is a classic Italian cocktail . It consists of gin – Campari and vermouth in equal portions. Its a combination of bitter, sweet and strong flavours. You could call it a Cult drink which has its own set of followers and haters. It’s definitely a hate or love drink and nothing in between. From the years of serving cocktails experience that I’ve come across. Many just fascinated by the name and the hype that comes with the Negroni more than anything else. And the result here is then pretty much obvious
There have been times when I’ve seen people trying to hide their regret after ordering the Negroni. It’s a cocktail where you have to develop a taste for it. And very rarely have I seen someone like it the first time around. You tend to build a liking towards it with time. On the other hand, many out there could easily distinguish a good negroni from a bad one. And if you happen not to like it, you are entitled to say or even exhibit your opinion. You would not be held accountable for having a point of view or speaking your mind. And surprisingly you might find many who might share the same opinion
history of negroni
Legend has it, that it owes it origins to the Caffe Casoni in Florence, Italy way back in the 1919’s. The narration goes that Count Camillo Negroni asked the bartender for an Americano cocktail. He thereafter asked the bartender to replace the soda with gin to make it stronger than the Americano. And the rest is history. Walla, and the world got its first-ever Negroni. As of today, you can find many variants of the NEGRONI. There are also Negroni Cocktail Week celebrations being celebrated the world over
Not being a very complex cocktail to make, it can be easily made at home once you source the required ingredients for the cocktails. But the myth about having to make it the right way. Any bartender with a minimum work experience or stirring skills can do a ‘great job. But you would require some epic skills to make a bad one 🙂 . But the most important skill required here is “confident” to be able to churn one
