“It’s a Classic “. the sentence in itself comes with so much pride. The word ‘classic’ itself carries a sense of royalty. Not everyone or things are fortunate enough to get the tag “classic”. The ones who refuse to fade away, are called ” Classic”. The term cannot be achieved by any newcomer, it has to be earned. And at the bar we have a dedicated section for such cocktails called “classic cocktails” .

There is something about the so-called classic cocktails. It has still managed to stand the test of time, faced numerous storms, but still managed to stand tall. And this is no coincidence, it was the sheer quality of cocktails which refused to fade away. Let’s not forget the Prohibition period, during which bartenders had to shift their operations. But this didn’t stop the bartenders from innovating.

 The prohibition also played its role in bestowing us with some great cocktails to the list. The beauty of a classic is in its simplicity. No wonder. It is referred to as a classic cocktail. Most classic cocktails are made with simple ingredients as the resources were limited. Even with simple ingredients, they still manage to pack a punch. The beauty is how simple ingredients can still give great results. No matter how advanced cocktails get, everyone will have that one, go-to classic cocktail.

With cocktails witnessing some astonishing transformations. Storytelling – theme, etc, are some of the points to be taken into consideration while setting a cocktail menu. And it is right in doing so. It’s the need of the hour. Everyone must be aware of the Nokia story. The cocktail game has been changing and will continue to witness further changes in the coming future.

Science now entering, has helped greatly in transforming the cocktail business. But with the bar equipment also going through a great deal of advancement has resulted in taking cocktails to a whole new level. The bartenders also needed to be credited for this. It’s these so-called bartenders who maximised the use of the available resources. Bartending is no longer about  60ml on the rock. We are now witnessing a renewed era of bartending. Won’t be wrong to call it an exciting era of bartending.

The level of bartending has seen a drastic improvement, with bartenders striving to invent their signature cocktail recipe. Every bar wants to have its special list of signature cocktails. This has led to healthy competition (if I could say so) amongst the bar and bartenders to outperform competitors. And not to forget the bar award functions and cocktail competitions. This all contributes to make it worthwhile,

The bartending competition has also come as a much-needed boost for the industry. And this, by all means, has helped in lifting the bartender’s spirit. Keeping them always on the lookout for innovation. Most of the cocktails, if not all, draw their inspiration from the so-called classic cocktails. classic. And yes, it was the bartenders that invented the cocktails. Without the classic cocktails there would be no cocktails at all. Forget about signatures

Classic cocktails are all where it started. With limited resources available, the bartender still did a great job churning some brilliant cocktails. Classic still has that elegant touch which still manages to draw an audience. Maybe keeping it simple was the secret. And when we look at the sales, classic cocktails out beat so-called signature cocktails hands down

The trends will keep changing but classic cocktails are here to stay. Every new or signature cocktail would one day want to feature in the list of classic cocktails. At a house party or any event, you would always find what is known as a classic cocktail.
