Brandy cocktails with coffee
As a bartender by profession, churning cocktails has always been a part of my job. “Cocktail”, as easy as it sounds, was something that didn’t come naturally to me. It took me years of high-level mediation and tapasya to get it right 😉 . If you’re thinking we’re going to make a bartender out of you? You’re wrong, we’re trying to save you all the long hours of meditation and tapasya 🙂 . But here at Cocktail Monk, all we plan on doing is making cocktails easy for you so that you can enjoy them at home. For now, let’s do a Brandy cocktail with coffee. An easy cocktail for you to make at home.
You could never be far from brandy when you’re in Kerala. From what I have witnessed in all these years in Kochi, there is much love for brandy here among all the other spirits. It wasn’t that I was unaware of Brandy, but I found a drag towards Cognac. Cognac with a dash of water was my choice for drinking Cognac. And that’s the only way I still prefer to have a Cognac. Not that I wasn’t aware of brandy cocktails, but I had minimal interest in them, let alone churning brandy cocktails. I agree that this was not the right thing. Thankfully, this was rectified in Kerala. It didn’t take me much time to make the required adjustment. Kerala, brandy and brandy cocktails -Game On ;).
Brandy cocktail with coffee
This is for sure not the first cocktail I’ve made with brandy. But yes, it’s my first blog on bandy cocktail. I’ve tried this same recipe with a slight twist using many different spirits, but never with brandy. Here I would like to pass on the credit to my FIL (Mr. Roy), No, not Brandy, he loves coffee :). That’s where I thought of getting Coffee and Brandy together in a glass. As always, this is like the Sachin Tendulkar of recipes, never fails to deliver. This is one great way to enjoy your coffee. If you enjoy experimenting with coffee, this would be a great option to go for. It would also apply if you have a liking towards brandy. Now, coffee has a robust and dominating flavour which has the potential to overpower any other flavour, and it does the same here. This could easily pass as a cold coffee, but the brandy here plays a vital role in enhancing the coffee and remodelling it into a cocktail. A super refreshing cocktail with strong and long coffee flavours, with a hint of fruity and a touch of floral notes at the start. All of this combines in a single glass to make one great-tasting brandy cocktail with coffee.
