NEGRONI
Negroni is a classic Italian cocktail. It consists of gin, Campari, and vermouth in equal portions. It’s a combination of bitter, sweet and intense flavours. You could call it a Cult drink, which has its own set of followers and haters. It’s a love or hate drink, and nothing in between, from the years of experience serving cocktails that I’ve come across. Many are just fascinated by the name and the hype that comes with the Negroni more than anything else. And the result here is then pretty much obvious
There have been times when I’ve seen people trying to hide their regret after ordering the Negroni. It’s a cocktail that requires you to develop a taste for it. And very rarely have I seen someone like it the first time around. You tend to develop a liking for it over time. On the other hand, many out there could easily distinguish a good Negroni from a bad one. And if you happen not to like it, you are entitled to express or share your opinion. You would not be held accountable for having a point of view or speaking your mind. And surprisingly, you might find many who might share the same opinion

history of negroni
Legend has it that it owes its origins to Caffe Casoni in Florence, Italy, dating back to the 1910s. The narration goes on to say that Count Camillo Negroni asked the bartender for an Americano cocktail. He thereafter requested the bartender to replace the soda with gin to make it stronger than the Americano. And the rest is history. Walla, and the world got its first-ever Negroni. As of today, you can find many variants of the NEGRONI. There are also Negroni Cocktail Week celebrations being celebrated the world over
Not being a particularly complex cocktail to make, it can be easily prepared at home once you source the required ingredients. It comes with a myth of having to be made the right way, but it’s a simple cocktail; all you need is to stir. Any bartender with a minimum work experience or stirring skills can do a ‘great job. But you would require some epic skills to make a bad one 🙂 . But the most important skill required here is “confident” to be able to churn one

It’s a not-so-sweet cocktail. A slightly bitter cocktail. The flavours also depend on the quality of the gin used to make the Negroni. However, the Campari is the show stealer, with its flavour standing out from all the rest of the ingredients. If you’re a fan of Campari, then you undoubtedly love Negroni
